At White Barnes we endeavour to keep your legal costs to a minimum but much depends upon you as a client and the individual circumstances of your case.

Legal advice and services provided by White Barnes solicitors are generally charged at an hourly rate. Our fee disclosure statements can be made available to you on request.

The firm will consider entering into a fixed fee costs arrangement for certain types of work. We are happy to discuss such arrangements with you.

We utilise computer time recording to accurately record and report details of activities performed by each fee earner, the details of when and how such time is recorded and billed to each matter.

We can consult with client’s to develop a customised bill format which satisfies their requirements.

We will also consider reducing our fees for bulk work. If you are interested in discussing this type of arrangement we would encourage you to contact us to discuss same with one of our partners.

At White Barnes we endeavour to be open and transparent about our fee structure and the costs associated with litigation and legal advice.

We are also willing to be flexible with our billing and will enter into an arrangement with you to bill for instance on an interim basis (whether it be monthly, quarterly etc) or in some cases we can agree to issue a bill at the conclusion of the proceedings of the matter and simply request that you pay for the ongoing disbursements incurred associated with your case.

Disbursements

Disbursements are billed at cost. We seek instructions before expenditure for large disbursements are out layed. For instance we will discuss with you engaging a barrister or an expert before entering into a retainer and ensure that you are fully appraised of any cost to you.
